- Irish Angling Safaris (Ireland Pike) was established by Alan Broderick to promote and
market pike fishing holidays on the unspoiled , pristine waters of County Westmeath in the
Irish Midlands -
- "The Land of Lake and Legend."
Alan has an in depth knowledge of Irish waters, having been involved in fish and
fishing all his life. He is a regular contributor to fishing programmes in Ireland,
Britain and the U.S. , writes for a variety of angling publications and has acted as a
consultant for the Irish Tourist Board. Alan has given seminars at American sport fishing
expos and has designed a range of specialist pike rods , specifically for the lure
enthusiast in search of Trophy Pike.
His outstanding photographs of pike have been reproduced in numerous publications all
over the world, including the book accompanying the award-winning BBC TV series "Tales
From The Riverbank" produced by the BBCs Natural History Unit (1997).
Alan is the Liaison Officer for the Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain
and Ireland (PAC). He is dedicated to the conservation of pike and to creating a
greater profile of their importance both as a sporting fish and as a vital component in
all healthy, balanced fisheries. He is a strong advocate for "Catch And Release"
of this survivor from ancient times.
